This whole place is an experience! We've been here several times, but on this occasion it was to celebrate our wedding anniversary (which is why there are no pictures, I wanted to be present and enjoy). The service here is always incredible. You can tell they really want you to feel special during your visit, and they always accomplish this. We were able to sit in the Garden Room this time, and it was great. Right by the window where we could look out and enjoy the views. We both enjoyed a drink and ordered the Artichoke dip as an appetizer from the specials list. My husband got the scallops and I ordered the black truffle gnocchi with fillet brochettes. Initially when it came out, it was rare rare! I don't think I've ever sent anything back so I hesitated, but I knew there was no way I could eat it like that. Our server easily took it back and brought it back out cooked perfectly. Such another great visit here!

My husband and I came here for our first year anniversary as a married couple. I believe he made reservations online or he called it in. When we arrived, we were seated at this beautiful private area as it was still early in the evening. My husband went with the prime rib, and I went with their scallops special. My husband's prime rib was cooked to perfection, and he was very happy. My scallops were fresh and sweet cooked to perfection. We both recommend our individual plates. The food was absolutely delicious. The sunset while we were there, and it was beautiful to see the trees and the sun peeking through. Staff was very helpful and knowledgeable about the menu. We took up all the recommendations of our server. You have to ride the elevator at least once and we read it was best to ride it on the way up so you can walk down and see all of the beautiful trees and flowers. I recommend doing the same.

Perfect Birthday Dinner! I celebrated my birthday at Shadowbrook in Capitola, and it was the perfect choice! From the moment we arrived and took the charming cable car down to the restaurant, the experience felt magical. The ambiance was cozy and elegant, ideal for a special occasion. The service was impeccable--our server made the evening feel extra special with thoughtful recommendations and attention to detail. We started with the baked brie and artichoke hearts, both absolutely delicious. For our main courses, we had the truffle gnocchi with filet mignon and beef stroganoff--each dish was phenomenal! The gnocchi was rich and creamy, and the filet mignon was cooked to perfection. The entire night was flawless, and I couldn't have asked for a better birthday celebration. Shadowbrook truly made it a memorable evening, and I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

Shadowbrook was highly recommended, and with good reason. We were able to get a last minute reservation for a Tuesday night. (Even on a Tuesday they are fully booked so you may want to plan ahead.) A tram takes you down the fairy lite hillside to the top level of the restaurant. The multiple level restaurant is beautiful, rocks and waterfalls, patios with twinkling lights, and a view of the river below, depending on which area you are seated. Their menu is focused, which I think lends to a better quality. For a higher end restaurant, their price point is the most reasonable I've seen in awhile. The wine list in particular was surprisingly reasonably priced. We started with the artichoke cream soup, rich and velvety. For the mains, we had heard several times that the truffle gnocchi was great. They have an option to top it with steak as well. Phenomenal. The lobster and mashed potatoes were great, but the gnocchi was the stand out. The service at Shadowbrook is stand out. We went to Bouchon earlier on the same trip, and Shadowbrooks service was better. From the bar tender to our server, Cody, who was fantastic. That right balance between friendly and laid back, and taking care of the table. Highly recommend if you are in the area!

Just a really nice place. Very friendly professional staff. we dined the bottom level with a view of the river. It was very busy, but the service was prompt. It was everything that I hoped it would be for a special occasion. The coconut lavender lemonade was excellent. Nice vegan vegetarian and meat options. Lollie is a friendly and perfect server.

First time here did not disappoint, what a special place! The ambiance ... so unique from the time you take the cable car down. Each dining room has a different vibe. Outside is gorgeous as well right on the "river". So much detail all around. Food was great! We really appreciated and enjoyed the complimentary bread. Great wine & cocktail selection. We did the buffalo cauliflower for an appetizer, had the best little kick to it along with the blue cheese was so good. For entree, I ordered the truffle gnocchi & I totally would again, it was delicious. And for dessert we did bread pudding and a lava cake. I think what really made this experience so fun was our waiter. I actually didn't catch his name but he had the best personality and knew so much about the restaurant, you could tell he was passionate about what he does and the people he serves. We went for my birthday and he sang the best "happy birthday" song, I'll remember it forever. 10/10 experience here, can't wait to have the pleasure to return!

An amazing restaurant with great history behind it. my wife and I come here every time we visit Capitola. it's our favorite date night spot.

Shadowbrook has always been one of my favorite restaurants. I haven't been there in years, but I am looking forward to being there tomorrow with 2 of my guests to celebrate their 45th anniversary.
